Sam Kodi, CEO of A-Perform, has always seen offshoring not just as a cost-saving tactic, but as a strategic pillar for businesses of any size. When he launched Smart Adviser, he put that belief into practice—building a lean onshore team supported by a robust offshore workforce.

But turning vision into reality wasn’t without its hurdles. Sam faced the all-too-common challenges of managing offshore staff: inconsistent attendance, performance gaps, and the complexities of remote oversight.

Still, true to his relentless nature, he didn’t back down. Instead, he leaned in—refining systems, learning from setbacks, and laying the groundwork for something better.

Maria Oserio has long believed that curiosity is the foundation of excellence—and the driving force behind meaningful progress.

Sam met Maria Oserio in 2017, and from that moment, Smart Adviser began a quiet transformation. With Maria’s sharp eye for process optimisation and her deep commitment to meaningful client engagement, she quickly became a cornerstone of the business.

As Smart Adviser grew, so did the demands—and it became clear that one Maria wasn’t enough. To scale sustainably, she knew the solution couldn’t rely solely on cost efficiency. It needed a model built on exceptional talent, genuine engagement, and a culture that could replicate the same standards of excellence she upheld. That insight became the foundation for what came next.

For over two decades, Gel Nolasco has been a passionate force in bridging businesses with offshore talent and solutions.

Gel Nolasco is the CEO of GSI, the workforce offshoring subsidiary and first international venture of Guild Group Holdings — the commercial arm of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia. For nearly a decade, GSI has built a reputation for cultivating a highly engaged and high-performing workforce in the Philippines, delivering offshore solutions that go beyond cost efficiency.

In 2023, with Smart Adviser poised for growth and in urgent need of scalable admin support, Sam turned to Gel for guidance. Gel didn’t just offer a solution — he delivered a tailored offshore strategy that aligned with Smart Adviser’s values and operational goals. Within months, the new setup was not only up and running — it was thriving. The partnership proved that with the right people and model, offshoring could be both seamless and transformative.

    Maria oversees operations and management. Maria has more than 10 years' experience in financial services and is well-versed in insurance, mortgage advising and the Regulatory Re-assurance Support requirements surrounding these processes. ​
